During this year's "3rd INTERNATIONAL YACHTING SYMPOSIUM 2004" in Poros, Greece and amidst the backdrop of fifty-five MEGA YACHTS on the lovely island of Poros, a savvy Wine Tasting Forum was happening. The title, "UNDERSTANDING GREEK WINE" with Wine Expert and Author, Mr. Nico Manessis was the 'it' event organized by iForce Communications, s.a.

The HIGHLIGHT of this year's tasting were various NEW and contemporary labels from wineries such as Alpha Estate and Estate Biblia Hora, to name a few. They made quite a lasting impression on the yachting connoisseurs, gourmands, owners, brokers and international VIPs from seventeen countries!!

The two-hour wine tasting included a selection of up-and-coming Greek vineyards and labels. "Greece is producing some World Class wines and the world wants to know about it", says Manessis. The Tasting tied into the Symposium's complimentary theme, "The Greek Islands as a Yachting Destination". Topics covered were Greek wine varieties, regions and styles. Manessis discussed and disseminated know-how on how to properly taste, purchase, serve and collect wine. This year's tasting highlighted a select presentation of exclusive Greek vintages for the sophisticated and discriminating palette. Wine Expert and Author, Nico Manessis' experience includes vineyard management, wine production, marketing and fine wine advisory services which span Europe and the U.S.A. with more than 20 years experience. He is the author of the "Illustrated Greek Wine Book" and has contributed to numerous books and publications such as International Herald Tribune, the Financial Times and Decanter. He is a member of the Academie Internationale du Vin and resides in Geneva, Switzerland.
